About Sidekicks

WTF is Sidekicks?

Sidekicks is a public, open source, first draft of a novella I'm writing about super people in love.

Why is it public if it's a first draft?

Because writing is a lonely, neurotic, weird pursuit and I give up on a lot of things before I hit the halfway point. Making it public feels less lonely, probably more neurotic, and provides a small form of accountability to the three or four people who might be interested in this.

Why should I read a first draft? What if you fuck up a plot point or something?

I'll fix it later.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What do you mean by open source?

This work is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution & Share-alike license. That means you can use any part or all of this work in any way you want, including the characters, setting, or plot, as long as you credit the original work and release your version under the same license. At least I think that's how it works. I'm not a lawyer. I'm barely a writer. Anyway, I'm not gonna sue you.

Why are you doing that?

It's the closest way I can think of to reflect the convoluted and contradictory continuities that occur when a bunch of different people work in a shared comics universe. A character that's dead in this story might be alive in yours. I think that's just neat. Don't you?

Where are the images from?

John Hilgart's wonderful image blog, 4CP. Go there and look at stuff!

I hate this! Where do I send my Anger?
